Dr. Deepak K. Tibrewal
MBBS,MF(Hom.) London.
I am Dr. Deepak K. Tibrewal. I have allopathic qualification--MBBS from MAHE (Manipal Academy of Higher Education) and homeopathic qualification MF (Hom.) London, from The Royal London Homoeopathic Hospital, London--a University College London Hospital, London--a NHS Trust Hospital.
People often ask me, "Why homeopathy after MBBS?" I will attempt to answer this question briefly:
It was during my second year of medical school that we began to see patients in hospital wards. For the first time, I felt the need for an alternative system when I saw patients coming back again and again, as the allopathic system was not able to provide long-lasting relief.
The concept of psychoneuroimmunology, which made the cover issue of the 1987 edition of Newsweek Asia-Pacific, further fueled the thought, and ever since then, I started thinking about how these ideas can be employed clinically.
During the holidays, my father introduced Dr. B. Sahni, a homeopath, and I started reading homeopathic books and following patients at his clinic. I was deeply motivated by the outcome I saw in his clinic. Moreover, this system of medicine not only confirmed the ideas reflected in psychoneuroimmunology but also applied them clinically.
